Wood work menuserie Camoni
Nestled beneath the rooftops in the heart of central Paris, just steps away from the Saint-Honoré Market, this apartment was originally divided into a series of small maid’s rooms. Opening up the space, removing the attic floor structure, and introducing new skylights restored a generous sense of volume while flooding the interior with natural light. These new openings frame views of the sky and reveal the original timber roof structure, where one of the substantial solid wood beams now forms the focal point of the living space.
The main living area has been reimagined as an open-plan living room and kitchen, complemented by a bedroom and a bathroom. Particular attention was given to maximizing every square metre, creating a home that is both functional and inviting. The material palette plays a key role in establishing this soft, light-filled atmosphere: white-painted solid pine flooring, warm cream-coloured walls, and a pale blue polished concrete bathroom evoke the feeling of a simple cabin retreat. Bespoke timber joinery adds warmth throughout, while carefully placed pops of colour bring contrast and personality, defining the unique character of this unconventional apartment.
